A title often given to designers that have several years of experience in the industry.
Product designers are the caretakers of the brand. Their ultimate goal is to deliver a great product to the end users.
The product designer’s role is one that has been in continual evolution- picking up and leaving skillsets behind as it’s matured.
However, one thing has remained constant. The product designer is the grand overseer of the various forms of design that can take place on a product. They will have skills in visual design and UX design. They will have knowledge of motion graphics and animation. They will be able to interpret and conduct User Research as well as prototype when needed. They will have business acumen in understanding business strategy and data analyses.
A product designer’s role is not to make a solution beautiful, but to study and identify a problem, then design, test, and ship a solution.
The product designer will know how to utilize and maximize the skills of every member on the team.
